| Description: | The Middle East African Council of Ophthalmology, or MEACO, was established in 1989 as an umbrella organisation that represents all the national ophthalmic societies in the Middle East, including Bahrain, Iran, Turkey, and Africa. MEACO's main mission is to enhance ophthalmic training, continuing education and ophthalmic practise in order to elevate the quality of eye care for the people of the Middle East and Africa. MEACO organises and sponsors a biannual congress that is well attended by practising ophthalmologists from member countries and around their world. The 10th MEACO Congress will be held in 2009 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Manama, Bahrain. | |
